Q:  Response Time & T3

If one is to be a dramatic responder to the addition of T3 to T4 how long does it take to realise the improvement once T3 is added?

Dear Steve --
Fearing that having to ask means it didn't happen for you (or maybe you're asking for yourself or someone who's still contemplating trying this approach) -- about two weeks, I'd say.  Usually I start at a half grain, then one grain, then one-and-a-half if nothing good nor bad is happening.  After two weeks at that highest dose, something good ought to be showing up.  Usually about 1-2 weeks after that is when hyperthyroid symptoms will start showing up, if the dose is too high, so there's a window of good that can be followed by something more complicated (and requiring dose reduction).  Of course all of this is to be done under a doc's supervision, with TSH testing to give some idea of where you are.  Good luck with that.
