Q: Still has Anger Outbursts & Depression
I was recently diagnosed with bi polar. I dont know hardly anything
about it and my Phsycholigist didnt really tell me alot. I have been treated for
depression my whole life until now. I was on everything from Celexa to Zoloft.
Now they have me on nuerontin. It is helping in the fact that I can sleep now
for longer than a couple hours a night but I still have sever anger out bursts
and Depression. What should I do?
Dear Ms. A' --
Guessing that the version you've been diagnosed with is "Bipolar II",
as that's the one more likely to get treated with a string of antidepressants,
you could start with a website that teaches you the lots of basics for that
condition, starting with helping you learn enough to get convinced that it's the
right diagnosis, and going on to basics about treatment. If you think the
person who's treating you needs to read such basics as well, you can refer them
to the providers version which starts in the same place:
Mood
Swings without Mania.
