Q: Fasting & Bipolar Disorder
I would like information about fasting and how that affects bipolar disorder.
My son insist on fasting for days and it seems to affect him. He is insist
that medical evidence has proven to cleanse the body and gets you closer to God.
He has lost about 50 pounds. If you have any information or can tell me
where to find this information I would appreciate it. Thank you
Dear Ms. S' --
With apologies for the shortness of my reply, as I just lost about an hour of
work and got that nice little message from Microsoft: "sorry for any
inconvenience"...
No data on fasting and it's effects. Adrenalin is
secreted when the body is in starvation mode and that raises anxiety quite a
bit. The "Social Rhythm Therapy" project data seems to show that
a regular schedule, sleep especially but also regular meals, helps decrease
relapsing.
